OLD COLORADO CITY DOWNTOWN STUDY
Challenge: Leggitt Studio participated in a one-day community planning workshop located in the historic downtown district of Old Colorado City. The planning team was challenged with exploring creative ideas for improving the downtown core commercial buildings, streetscape, alleys and landscaping.
Solution: Due to the limited duration of the workshop, Jim Leggitt toured downtown with the team and took numerous photographs of opportunity sites. He then printed selected images on 8 1/2”x11” paper and generated more than 15 “before and after sketches” using pen and ink on tracing paper and colored with markers. Due to the extreme shortage of time, Jim colored the drawings only in gray tones instead of a more time consuming method using colored markers.
