DOWNTOWN NEDERLAND STUDY
Challenge: Create a series of hand drawn sketches showing potential design interventions, building restorations and placemaking opportunities in the historic downtown Nederland core.
Solution: studioINSITE took digital photographs throughout the downtown core and created a series of “before and after” hand drawn sketches showing how specific spaces and buildings might be improved. The side-by-side photographs and sketches were very effective in promoting new ideas to downtown property owners and local residents. Due to a compressed time schedule, Jim traced the digital photographs directly on his laptop screen with tracing paper, ink pens and colored markers.
