LOS ANGELES METRO STATIONS
Challenge: Leggitt Studio was commissioned to construct elaborate 3D SketchUp models and generate detailed renderings for five proposed LA Metro transit oriented developments along a new commuter rail line southeast of Los Angeles. The hybrid renderings Jim created were integrated into a comprehensive urban planning study for the corridor.
Solution: Based on urban design framework plans and descriptions for each of the five transit study areas, Jim Leggitt built highly detailed 3D SketchUp models representing the landscaping, land uses, streetscape elements, intersection design, transit stations and overall context based architecture. Following a careful analysis of optimum perspective angles, Jim exported high resolution views from the models, printed each view on 11”x17” coated bond paper and drew directly onto the prints with a fine point pen, color markers and colored pencils. High resolution scans were delivered to the client and published in the planning document.
