SITKA CENTER FOR ART AND ECOLOGY July 21-23, 2025 Otis, Oregon (this is Jim Leggitt’s third iPad Art workshop at SITKA)
We’re familiar creating traditional art projects with paper, pencils, ink and paint. In this workshop, you’ll experience an entirely new "digital" drawing process using your iPad, Apple Pencil the amazing Procreate software. This entry level 3-day workshop is divided into multiple hands-on segments, each exploring the basics of Procreate's toolset, sketching with an Apple Pencil, integrating photography, exploring Procreate brushes, working with layers, and exporting your completed digital artwork. Each participant must bring either an iPad Pro 11-inch or iPad Pro 12.9-inch (third generation or newer) loaded with Procreate, the Apple Pencil 2nd Generation and power cords associated with their devices. iPhones, keyboards or laptops are not required for this workshop. Prior to attending this workshop, participants are encouraged to have a basic familiarity using their iPad and have installed the Procreate app (only available for Apple devices). Watching a few online tutorials about Procreate is recommended before taking this class. All levels of traditional drawing skills are welcome in this workshop.


ZOOM® DRAWING WORKSHOPS - Traditional or Digital Formats

Jim Leggitt, FAIA now offers remote drawing workshops in either “traditional formats” using pencils, pens, markers on paper, or, “digital formats” using iPads, Apple Pencils and Procreate software. With many individuals working and learning remotely, Jim organizes ZOOM® “live” drawing workshops in which attendees connect into the event and draw along with Jim. Everyone uses identical worksheets distributed prior to the workshop. Leggitt’s remote drawing workshops offer personal “one-on-one” drawing instruction for single designers, or workshops organized to include a greater number of people - each working from different locations!

ZOOM® TRADITIONAL FORMAT DRAWING WORKSHOP

This “analog” drawing workshop gives participants ideal training that fits their traditional (pencils, pens, markers and tracing paper) visualization preferences and priorities.  Jim Leggitt will work with you “one-on-one” or with groups to create a custom agenda that will give you the maximum personal training with flexible timing that fits with your schedule. You may choose either a single day workshop or a session spread over two half-days. Each participant is required to own (or share) all of the items on the Materials Recommended: Assortment of pens, markers, pencils, trace paper, tape, etc. listed below. DIGITAL iPAD DRAWING WORKSHOP

We’re all familiar creating traditional art projects with paper, pencils, ink and paint. This entry level workshop is divided into multiple hands-on segments, each exploring the basics of Procreate's toolset, sketching with an Apple Pencil, integrating photography, exploring Procreate brushes, working with layers, and exporting your completed digital artwork. Participants experience the dynamic characteristics of digital visualization and the joy at how easy it is to create iPad art with such a portable and powerful machine.

Leggitt offers this iPAD Drawing workshop either remotely using ZOOM®, or in-person.

Materials Recommended: Each participant must use either an iPad Pro 11-inch or iPad Pro 12.9-inch (third generation or newer) loaded with Procreate, the Apple Pencil 2nd Generation and power cords associated with their devices. iPhones, keyboards or laptops are not required for this workshop.
