GLENWOOD 6TH STREET IMPROVEMENTS
Challenge: Generate a hand drawing for a block long street in Glenwood Springs showing proposed temporary streetscape improvements including overhead festival lighting and painted graphics outlining new bicycle paths and modified parking geometry. A perspective drawing was necessary to convince City Council and secure funding for this short term streetscape intervention.
Solution: Jim Leggitt constructed a 3D SketchUp massing model of the existing street and buildings, then added the proposed street elements and parking striping. He then exported an aerial perspective that best represented the concept, printed the view on 11”x17” coated bond paper and finally sketched directly on the print with a fine point ink pen and colored markers. He scanned the hybrid drawing and emailed a jpeg to the Glenwood client.
