GUNNISON DOWNTOWN PLAN
Challenge: Generate a series of conceptual sketch studies during a community planning workshop for various downtown improvements including repurposed buildings, infill development, intersection safety improvements and storefront facade renovations.
Solution: Jim Leggitt took numerous digital photographs throughout the downtown district and worked quickly during a two-day workshop to create a series of “before and after” hand drawn sketches showing how existing conditions might be improved with investments to street intersections, building facades, new infill development and general streetscape enhancements. This side-by-side technique was very effective in showing community stakeholders simple ideas in an easy to understand graphic presentation.
