DOWNTOWN SILVERTON PLAN

Challenge: Create a series of “before and after” sketches of various downtown streets, river crossings, infill development sites, and existing building improvements during a three-day planning charrette in the mountain community of Silverton, Colorado.

Solution: Jim Leggitt took reference photographs throughout the downtown study area and generated a dozen colored sketches using an iPad to create the hybrid illustrations. He imported the photos into the iPad and sketched directly over the images with digital linework and color. The overall visuals were very quick to produce and effective when printed and mounted side-by-side with the original photographs.
